In 2018, the ESRF is celebrating its 30th anniversary, 30 years of Science, 30 years of innovation, 30 years of contributions to the great challenges of our time, to a sustainable and peaceful world.
In this context, the ESRF has launched Humans of ESRF, a blog that pays homage to the people from all walks of life and from all over the world who work together at the ESRF: users, scientists, engineers, technicians, and administrative staff.
Welcome to the world of the ESRF, where a fascinating blend of people from different backgrounds and cultures join together to make the ESRF what it is today: a unique world-class facility for the advancement of science.
In this blog, you will discover, through the people and their stories, how our cultural diversity, curiosity, culture of excellence and innovation are the driving forces behind the success of the ESRF. You will dive into ESRF’s universe and have a behind-the-scenes glimpse of what life is like at the European Synchrotron.
This project is loosely based on the Humans of New York project, which was born a decade ago in New York. Since its creation, there have been many other "Humans of..." initiatives around the world.
Check back to the site every Wednesday throughout the year 2018, to meet the humans behind the science.
